We learn about the cycle of life via our Exploration Stations and gardening; planting seeds, tending the garden, harvesting, preparing, sharing and eating meals and then composting what is unused. We practice social skills, learn about nutrition and the food we eat.  Children assist in preparation: measuring, mixing, pouring, rolling dough, using child safe kitchen utensils, following a recipe, serving and cleaning up.

Two hearty vegetarian snacks include grains, seeds, legumes, beans, almond butter, hummus, Greek yogurt, egg, and/or cheeses, whole grain, organic and/or homemade breads, crackers, muffins and granola, fresh local vegetables and fruit. Milk or alternative milk will be served and water is available throughout the day.

All children will be encouraged, never forced to try new foods, to develop their palates and ensure well balanced nutrition.
