"Tell me and I forget. Show me and I remember.

Involve me and I understand."

- Chinese proverb

Nature school

Mother Nature teaches us in our home based outdoor classroom and gardens.

Our emergent curriculum takes its lead from the seasonal happenings, the weather, nature around us and the interests of the children.

We find inspiration for Art in nature's gifts-- the seasons, leaves, flowers, twigs, pebbles, shells, etc.

We embark on holistic observation and study of flora and fauna, life cycles, weather, elements and indigenous peoples' cultures and traditions using STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math).

We breathe fresh air, soak up Vitamin D from the sun, refresh in the rain and puddle jump, smell flowers, leap through fallen leaves and get dirty in the mud.

"Of all the paths you take in life,

make sure a few of them are dirt."

-- John Muir
